Punta Espada Golf Course

When we say You Cannot Even
Imagine - We Mean It!
Punta Espada Golf Course may just be the most beautiful venue for
golf in the world. This is an unbelievable course that all avid
golfers should play at least once. Some balk at the price tag and
decide to play elsewhere, but I’ve never seen someone
walk off 18 and say it wasn’t worth every penny.
Golf The Caribbean and Punta
Espada Golf Course
Golf the Caribbean is now providing an All Inclusive Golf Experience
for players at Punta Espada Golf Course. You can book your
golf online before you leave home and our Go Golf reps
will pick you up at the hotel, drop you off at the course then drive
you back to the hotel after your round. The Golf the Caribbean package
includes round-trip transportation, green fees, power cart and range
balls. This is definitely the all inclusive golf package
you’re looking for on vacation.
Punta Espada Overview
Jack Nicklaus designed this course on the Cap Cana complex in Punta
Cana and demanded that they give him the best land on the resort
to create his masterpiece. The result is one of the most
challenging golf courses you’ll ever find with vistas that
will make your jaw drop.
Jack carved the course out of the natural landscape which includes
cliffs, bluffs, waterfalls and jungle. There are
many Caribbean courses that offer nice views of the Caribbean or
a hole or two running along its shores, but this is the first course
that has a full half of its holes running to or along the
banks of the beautiful blue waters.
One of the most stunning holes in golf is the thirteenth on Punta
Espada Golf Course. This par three forces golfers to play directly
over the bay with a full carry to the green. From the tips you’re
looking at a full 249 yards right out over the ocean. The onshore
breeze will help a little, but most amateur golfers will be using
a full driver here. The hole is made even more daunting by the surf
splashing off the rocks in front of the green obscuring your view.
This hole is like the 17th at TPC Sawgrass on steroids.
The 13th at Punta Espada Golf Course will soon be the most photographed
hole in Caribbean golf.
Champions Tour and Punta
Espada
Many courses claim to be “championship” courses, but
Punta Espada has proved it. Just a year after its opening Punta
Espada Golf Course has been selected to be the venue for
a new PGA Champions Tour Event starting in 2008. The tournament
will draw a 78 player field and feature 2 million dollars in prize
money. We’ll see how the pros handle the course and luckily
get to see some great footage of this remarkable course.
Plans for Punta Espada Golf
Course
Rumor has it that Golfer's paradise will only be open to the public
for another year or two – so you’d better play it soon!
Jack Nicklaus is designing two more golf courses on the Cap Cana
complex that are scheduled to be opened next year. At that time,
Punta Espada golf course will become a private course for those
who have purchased property on Cap Cana.
We were completely blown away by this course
– if you’re a golf enthusiast you should definitely
treat yourself to a round at Punta Espada before it’s too
late.
